“Island Spa is a Korean spa in Edison that mimics a 'mini vacation' with six dry saunas, massages, facials, body scrubs, hot tubs, Korean restaurant, juice bar, sleeping rooms and overnight stays.”

“Wearing a swimsuit when bathing isn’t truly bathing. This is an invitation to see what the Korean bathing culture looks like, and that’s exactly what it is about bathing. It’s not about what everyone thinks of me. They’re not looking. I’m here to focus on myself. It helps to instill confidence in guests, too; they can definitely get nervous, and it was a bit of a struggle at times, but we decided to be culturally committed. It’s been working out.”

“After one visit to Island Spa and Sauna, I intend to start incorporating Korean style body scrubs into my skincare/self-care routine at least quarterly– though I’m told that in Korea, it’s really just a part of the culture from early childhood on, and visits to the bathhouse are a weekly family ritual. My more American version of skincare tends to be a sudden mad dash to Nordstrom.com when there is a Black Friday sale to buy $100 eye cream at a discounted deal, praying it will reverse some of the teenage UV damage. I’m slowly learning the importance of a multi-step skincare routine, and this one is an affordable luxury that I will be treating myself to more regularly.”

New Jersey Bride

“On one stormy snowy night, Timmy and I ended up in a mini snowball fight in front of Island Spa after it had to close down early for the sake and security of the customers’ travels back home. There were sparks flying as were the snowballs that we threw at each other and because of that night, about 2 weeks later he asked me to be his girlfriend on February 6, 2016. Now I’m extremely happy to call him my fiancé and it’s all thanks to my sister, my friends, and especially Island Spa for unknowingly cultivating and encouraging my relationship with him.”

“Island Spa & Sauna is not your typical spa. It is a 30,000 square feet day spa that aims to revitalize your mind, body, and soul. There are dry saunas made of earthy materials (clay, rock salt, charcoal, and more) all of which provide unique health benefits. Aside from the saunas, they offer spa services including massages and traditional Korean body scrubs or facials. And there is a food court which offers traditional Korean cuisine and juice bar where you can get your smoothie fix on and more.”

Ayzia a la Mode

“When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by friendly staff that directed me where I needed to go. They gave me comfortable lounge wear for me to wear throughout the day. And then I was off to my first service, a Quintessential Facial.

This classic facial replenishes the skin to its natural moisture content and suppleness. Includes skin analysis, exfoliation, light extraction of impurities, facial massage, a customized mask, and nourishment.

Prior to the facial, my skin was dry and I was breaking out a little bit. The facial helped to calm my skin and give it the moisture it really needed.”

“An unexpected day off gave me an opportunity to visit Island Spa & Sauna in Edison NJ…if you’ve never been to a Korean Spa, stop what you’re doing, google the closest one to you, and GO! I don’t know why I am not making this a weekly thing because it’s so relaxing and energizing and we could all use a little bit of both right?”

The Food Couple NJ

“The Korean Spa, located in Edison, New Jersey, is also home to some amazing Korean and pan-Asian dishes. Did we mention they have an in-house sushi chef? YUP! Everything is cooked and made to order so it's 100% fresh!

Other dishes included soups, udon noodles, chicken teriyaki, and many more authentic dishes! I'd even come back just for the food!”

If you’re celebrating with your boo, bestie, mama, or even just want to spoil yourself (because duh, you deserve it) you will LOVE Island Spa & Sauna in Edison, NJ! I just recently went for “Galentine’s Day” with one of my bestie’s, Pam, and WOW….. what an experience. First off, this spa isn’t like your “typical” spa, it’s truly an experience and somewhere you can spend all day!”

Chocolate and Cheese, Please!

“Island Spa & Sauna was easily our top choice. We quickly realized that it isn’t just a place you go to for a quick massage. It’s the type of place that you go to for an experience. My mom, sister, and I turned this into 6 hours of pure bliss. For starters, we all got a hot stone massage. I was blessed with Ruby, who did a fantastic job! One of the reasons why I love this spa is because you can choose whether you want a private room or something bigger. Since we wanted to spend time together and do a girls day for my mom’s birthday, they put all three of us in one large room, which was so peaceful and great. Not only do they have various types of massages, but they also have facials, body scrubs, and more!”

“While my husband tried every single sauna available, I got a Swedish massage. I am going to tell you something right now about this massage. My massage with Lisa was the best massage I ever got, in my ENTIRE life! I always thought my favorite massage was years go in Vegas. Lisa knocked that one down to second. I loved that the massage incorporated so much stretching into it.  I felt so good after the massage. Less tense, way more relaxed, and it was just beyond incredible! I ran and texted my friends after to let them know that we HAVE to come back here!”

To bring the comfort of Island home to you, the menu includes traditional Korean favorites like Ramyeon (ramen noodles in a spicy red broth), Unagi Dup Bap (oven roasted eel over rice), Hwe Dup Bap (mixed sashimi served over fresh vegetables), and so much more.”
